Torres set for two-year Milan loan

Chelsea have confirmed Fernando Torres will join Milan on a two-year loan, subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed.

Spain striker Torres moved to Stamford Bridge in January 2011 following a highly productive stint with Liverpool.

The reported fee of £50million paid by Chelsea represented a British transfer record only surpassed this week when Angel di Maria joined Manchester United from Real Madrid.

However, Torres has been unable to demonstrate anything close to his best form in London and is now in line to spend the final two years of his contract on loan at San Siro.

A statement from the Premier League club on Friday read: Chelsea Football Club and AC Milan have agreed terms for the two-year loan deal of Fernando Torres to the Italian club.

The move is now subject to Fernando agreeing personal terms with AC Milan and passing a medical examination.
